How to interpret the status of your item. Coming from abroad   Prior to entering the USPS System.  Don’t let providers, add to a current mayhem going on in the US today.  Some  providers want to string you along for weeks our months. Making  you think, (nothing to see here). your  item in customs. Will arrive. Even if it’s been weeks and even months.

Most providers have an idea when an item is taking by customs. They have been doing this for years. Instead of working, things out with customers and moving on.  They want to do the delay- thingy with you.   We are living in times where people don’t want us to believe our eyes or trust our common sense.  Provides will even push back with, do you have a customs letter? I’m sure some of you know customs do not always send letters.   Especially now. Agents  have been sent out throughout different states creating havoc.

 Below are a few things that maybe the cause of your abroad delay  of goods:

1. Your item is being processed by customs:


International Parcel has been "inbound into customs" for a week ...
This status means an international shipment has arrived at a U.S. port of entry and is undergoing inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to verify contents, assess duties/taxes, and ensure compliance with1 import regulations. It is a routine step, though it may take days or weeks due to backlogs, missing paperwork, or required fee payments.
Key Aspects of the Process:
Inspection & Clearance: CBP screens packages via X-ray to check for prohibited items and verify declared contents.
Duty & Tax Assessment: If the shipment exceeds certain values, customs will calculate applicable duties and fees.
Documentation Check: Customs ensures proper paperwork is present; missing info can delay the process.
Duration: While usually taking 1–2 business days, it can take longer if there is a high volume of mail or if the item is held for examination.

What to Do If It Stays in This Status:
Be Patient: It is normal for this stage to take a few days.

File Inquiry: If it is stuck for more than 7-10 days, you can contact the carrier or provider.
