Pet Peeves
« on: January 22, 2023, 11:49:40 am »
I know we have done this before but I get so sick of these people who park their lifted trucks in the handicapped spot and the jump out of the truck and run inside the store.....  Can we start hunting them please?

What are some pet peeves that society would be better off if we just cleaned the gene pool up a little bit?

Slow drivers in the fast lane on the highway is the first thing that comes to mind. I despise that. Also people who jump in front of you while you are going fast and intentionally slow down. Drives me nuts.

Haha. I rate a handicap plate, as I am 100% totally and permanent disabled per the VA, but I would feel like an asshole if I got one and parked in the handicap spot at the store. I can still squat and deadlift 600+ and run 3 miles in 25 minutes. Even 99.9% of the able-bodied people in the world can't do that. I don't even park in the veterans or PH parking if they have them. There are dudes who need it more than I do.

My biggest pet peeve at the moment is, people who do not put their weights away. The new gym I joined is awesome. Great equipment and the staff is really receptive to bodybuilders. They have asked me several times, what equipment I want to see in the gym and they have delivered already on a couple items. However, the patrons are the worst at putting weights away. I spend time between each set walking around the gym putting weights away. There will be bars that are dangerously half loaded left on benches and hack squats and leg presses with several plates left on them. The thing that pisses me off the most is that if the strongest guys in the gym can put their weights away, then everyone else can. I am not impressed with the 5 pps someone left on the hack or leg press. I am still warming up with your little kid weights. If I can put the weights away after doing a rest pause set of 500+ lbs on deadlift for 20+ reps where the only thing my CNS wants to do is die, then you can put your pussy ass weights away.
If it doesn't scare you, it is not heavy enough.

See, that’s my point.  I got a 100% disability rating and was told I could get the tag and all that and I am like.....  nah, I’m good.  Honestly, it bugs me for guys to do that.

I don't even know where to start with this one lolol.

Guess I'm just bitchy 🤣 Biggest pet peeve while driving? You're in the right hand turning lane and you're going straight and f*k everyone behind you over. Irritates me lol

Biter, Torchy.... yeah driving pet peeves. ya'll got 2 of mine. I will add one more. The knuckleheads that get on the on ramp of the highway going 40 merging and making everyone slow down. They should be flogged. This is the main reason why the right lane is always 20 MPH slower than the left. It causes everyone to brake, people in the right pull into the middle or left after being slowed down and now everyone is going slow cause one dipshit cannot use the gas pedal.

AHHHHHG!

In Texas you can get a citation for driving in the passing lane. I wish they would enforce it.

Idiots that slow down for ANYTHING on the highway...car pulled over by cops, car/truck pulled over broke down or anything else that slows traffic to damn near a stop on the interstate. Next thing you know there's a 5 mile backlog over nothing and its a 6 lane interstate. Especially when its traffic going in the completely opposite direction than the side the "thing" is happening.

Funny. I was doing 5 mph over coming back from Springfield this weekend. I moved over into the left lane to get around a big rig. I guy in a Porsche comes flying up on my ass. No big deal. I was just going to get over as soon as I had enough room to clear the big rig anyways, but I also new there would be a state trooper just around the bend about a mile down the road. So, I decided I would stay in the left lane to help the guy out, but he decided to get so close to my bumper I couldn't even see the hood of his Porshe in any of my mirrors. I got over and he punched it. Probably got up to 105-110 mph and sure enough the trooper was in his spot. Lit him up. I wish we were a little closer to home, so my wife could have seen him in her court. He would get no reprieve, maxed out.

This morning in the Florida traffic sh*t show, I'm close to work. The street is actually 3 lanes each way. It merges the left lane into the right 2 and I am in the middle lane. Foreign lady (easily told by way she was dressed) in left lane car nose is only about 1/2 way up the side of my truck and she is not getting over and her lane is about to end. I barely had enough time to hit my breaks so she didn't sideswipe me. She is driving along with no f-ing clue. And of course I might be 4 weeks into the "hen house" ;) so I laid on the horn and flipping her off. She was lucky she wasn't going into my parking garage or I'd have parked right next to her and ripped her a new a$$. Of course I'd be the one in trouble.

I don't know how you stay sane driving there in season. I swear they have been working on Colonial by 75 for 5-6 years and it looks the same

Oh it is a mess, and yes that I75 & Colonial exit is a cluster f*. Every morning on I75 by the FM airport exit traffic is backed up to Naples, then reverse at night. It's why I choose to go to the LA Fitness in Golf Town Center by FGCU where I work. I can train and traffic is much better at 7:30-8PM. Traffic here sucks period. And since covid when all the northeasterners bought up every thing and moved, the off season is still a mess. Ian ran some off but it is back to in season so its not easy to tell right now.

Brings up another pet peeve. Road construction that blocks off miles and miles of roadway for 100 yards worth of work. I think it is I64 that drives through Indiana. The freeway was down to one lane through the ENTIRE STATE. I only observed construction in one location for about 100 yards.

I drove back to Oregon and Washington over the summer as well and I80 and I90 had similar situations. Pretty much every mountain pass was single lane and big rigs in the only lane doing 20 mph up the pass where the speed limit is 75 mph.
