As a few of you know. I add Ezekiel to everyone’s diet. See reviews.
now Ezekiel bread is bad for you too?
I recently started eating Ezekiel bread since people are saying it has less sugar and it’s whole grain and not as much wheat which wouldn’t spike your BG.
Now I just saw this guy saying how Ezekiel bread is bad?? Any thoughts on this?

This does not give specific brands to eat but has good info on what to eat in general. I trust the Cleveland Clinic way more than some random guy on Instagram.

One reason Ezekiel bread is good for your blood sugar and is considered low GI is that it's flourless. I am not aware of any other store bought bread that is.
It took some digging to find out exactly what this means and exactly how a bread can be flourless, but I eventually found the answer somewhere on the Ezekiel website.
They soak whole grains and legumes in water until they sprout. Then they mash this into a dough and bake it as bread. Flour is a big blood sugar spiker because it is so broken down into tiny particles that it digests very quickly. Whole grain flour mitigates this effect some with the extra fiber, but can still cause a spike because it's flour. Ezekiel bread on the other hand is almost like the equivalent of mashing some oatmeal and baking it into a loaf. The grains aren't as broken down yet by the time you eat it. I think it truly stands apart as a bread for this reason, and in my experience I don't see much spiking when I eat it, whereas whole grain bread made with flour does.
We all digest stuff a little different and YMMV, but for me, Ezekiel bread has been a boon. I can eat it without fearing a high blood spike.

Ezekiel is probably better for you than many other breads out there, that doesn't mean one can gorge on it though. But I doubt it's "bad for you", anything can be bad for you if eaten in excess. Even protein or water can be bad for you if you eat too much than you need.

Yeah I don’t gorge on it. I eat maybe like 2-3 slices a day. Usually as a toast with almond butter or avocado toast or even add protein to it with avocado but always one slice at a time

Not bad as long as you can fit the carbs into your macro

Old thread but for anyone else who landed here... if you can eat wheat products, this is the healthiest bread you can possibly find. It's literally older than the bible and people have been eating it for thousands of years. As a paleo bro, you'd think he'd appreciate the OG status of this bread.

Everything is bad depends on volume and frequency of consumption. But this bread is one of the healthiest choices on the market it’s a complete protein (has all 9 essential amino acids) low glycemic (complex carb/high fiber) which means it won’t spike your blood sugar up as much as high glycemic foods(sugars/simple carbs). Organic whole food ingredients. The best diet is just eating 80-90% Whole Foods (any meat, eggs, potatoes, dairy, etc. Organic/grass-fed,cage-free,etc is better since a proper healthy animal gives off better nutrients), snack on fruits, vegetables, and watching calorie consumption.

I eat it daily because it doesn't raise my bg like even whole wheat bread. It's a little dry sometimes and those round seeds kill my teeth but it's been great for my health. There will always be people that talk bad about anything you like. Eat what

People, all bread is bad, there are no shortcuts. Food for Lives Ezekiel bread, 15 grams of carbs per 34 gram slice = 44%Sugar. Taking fiber into account 35% net sugar.

Bro please ignore this Paul saladino guy. He is a carnivore zealot who thinks any other diet is shit. He even has a video saying all veggies are bad. Kale is bad blah blah. He picks a random molecule present in a vegetable and says it is toxic. Completely ignoring that dosage makes the difference. You can find such molecules in meat too. Overwhelming scientific evidence says eating plants and whole grains with high fiber is beneficial to your long healthy life. It doesn’t even have to be 100% vegan. You can be a healthy omnivore. Unfortunately people at r/keto have fallen into this guy’s mindset.

I use Dave’s Killer Bread. One slice a day, either with avocado or peanut butter with fresh berries.

Every body is so different. Nothing biologically makes sense from his video unless you are gluten intolerant. When I eat Ezekiel bread I feel like my best self lol those carnivore people need to chill. I get it it’s a nice diet for those willing to commit but it’s not the only way to a healthy lifestyle.

If Ezekiel bread is good enough for Jay Cutler, it's good enough for me.
