How To Reverse High Blood Sugars
« on: November 01, 2022, 08:29:07 am »

High blood sugar is associated with many serious health conditions including:
•   Elevated Blood Pressure
•   Atherosclerosis
•   Erectile disfunction
•   Fatty Liver Disease
•   Elevated Triglycerides
•   Blurred vision
•   Frequent urination
•   Bleeding gum

Q - How is high blood sugar diagnosed?

Getting a blood test can help identify high blood sugars.

Click on “Blood Test” at StanEfferding.com for an affordable, comprehensive blood test you can do online.

•   Lagging indicators of high blood sugars are elevated fasted glucose and HA1C.
•   Leading indicators are high triglycerides and fasted insulin (above 6)

Q - What can you do if you have high blood sugars?

Here is a list of the most effective methods for reversing or preventing high blood sugars.

1.   The most pronounced effect on insulin resistance is weight loss (7%) irrespective of diet. May need to lose 15% to restore beta cell functionality.
2.   Reducing added sugars is effective short term (6-12 months) but doesn’t fix beta-cell pathology without adequate weight loss.
3.   Protein intake - High Protein intake (amino acids increase insulin release).  High Protein and front-loading protein (earlier in day and first in meal) help with glycemic control. (Attenuated postprandial insulin response).
4.   Chrononutrition - for weight loss, no advantage. But for metabolic health and glycemic control.  Morning meals are more effective at controlling blood sugars and satiety in subsequent meals.
5.   Summary:  Weight loss (7%).  Beta cell restoration (15%).  Improve insulin sensitivity independent of weight loss (meal distribution), eating earlier in the day, and reducing total feedings daily over 24 hour period.  High fiber/Low GI. Low glycemic load. Exercise (resistance exercise in particular). Post-prandial exercise facilitates glucose disposal. Insulin-independent glucose uptake (10 min walks).  Meal distribution (front-loading energy). Higher protein. Protein earlier in the day. Protein first in a meal.
