Prior to being injured a few years ago.  while going to and fro abroad and domestic.  I had to carry enough insulin and growth for 3-4 weeks.  While it states that the drug is good for 4 weeks after opening.  This is a marketing pitch.  We all carry are pens in our suitcases and sometimes in our pockets when going out to eat.  As long as your n the area of 77 degrees your pen is safe.  If it gets hotter then this.  Your pen will not be destroyed.  But if kept in extreme hot temps for long periods of time.  Your going to lose it.  All pens I've seen that went bad was under extreme heat.  The method we used to import caused this issue.  A part of the compartment broke, therefore causing the bins to come in contact with the engine of the ship.  This extreme heat killed 50 case of Pens years ago.  Upon inspection you could see a clear, jelly fish shaped portion within the clear part of the pen.
