It is our drug. Seriously, like it or not, we are addicts.

I feel men are testosterone driven. As a toddler you are rough and tough with your toy trucks, building blocks. You even mimic the sounds of explosions, crashes. You bite your bottom lip when mad etc. It is our nature. As we age we feel the aches and pain and think more about the things we've done. But we wouldn't be who we are if we lived a sedentary lifestyle. Those who live a sedentary lifestyle we not able to prevent aging illness that are exercise and diet related. The aches and pains are going to come anyway. Maybe not in the same way. Everyday our bodies are decaying within.
If I could do it all over again with my aches and pains, I would happy same 400 plus on squat rack. It's who I am.
As dangerous as football is. my son will play if he chooses to. I played for Hawkeyes got hurt but i would do it again.
I believe it's who we are, and we will never change. I'm still young, two quad tears that took me off the IFBB Dance and two torn pecks and more. I still push the iron to the limit5-7months a year.
Injuries will not stop us, it's ingrained deeper than the outer muscle appearance
I went to the past Mr. O. It sucks!!! Being a fan. I don't know how they do it. It's not in me.

I was thinking last night as I lay in bed awake at 3am as normal with my knees, right ankle, back and shoulders aching from sparring. Why do we do things that hurt? I do not like hurting but always go back when I am able.
Lifting heavy until absolute exhaustion is not easy or comfortable and we know for a fact it tends to lead to painful strains/injuries yet we go train like maniacs anyway and it is not pleasant to push to the max. Many of us do martial arts, unless you are in a cardio kickboxing class, they hurt. Muay Thai my shins look disgusting from all the knots and scar tissue, BJJ your joints are always tweaked and if you am not absolutely exhausted to the point of almost passing out you did not train hard enough.
Paintball, mountain biking, remember mosh pits when you were young? Even being outside when it is 105 or super cold and liking the discomfort
Why do we do things like this that are uncomfortable or hurt us? Does this make us masochistic?
Sorry for the ramble, Jippy is not very lucid after maybe 2-3 hours of fragmented sleep.
