Training, Cycles & Diets / Re: Is oatmeal Good or Bad?
« on: March 01, 2024, 07:39:10 am »
I saw a podcast on oats and glyphosate (pesticide) and ochratoxin A (toxin from some mold)

I love oats, but not eat them daily like my wife. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I am sure we are inundated with all sorts of toxins from food.

I have a Dragonfly fish finder. You couldn't pick out a fish to save your life on it, but it picks up the terrain of the bottom and structure really well. That is all I care about.

If you are looking for drop offs and such a down imaging works great. Here we have acres upon acres of flats and all of the fish are concentrated in tiny pockets. I could fan cast and get lucky or look for sunken tires from a marina or stumps ect and catch 95% more fish. coming into the time of year and going forward through March I will not take a sonar as the fish will be shallow.

I went out yesterday afternoon right as the front hit. 1 bite which I missed. It is in the mid 30s now. Next week will warm up again. I am ready to go as soon as we have 3 days of warm weather and sun.

Also the last full moon in February is 1 week from today. If we are warm a lot of fish will move up and start cruising the shallows. Certainly not all as the water will still be in the low 50s but SOOOO CLOSE!

I like fishing the winter better than the post spawn though. Gig gals all move offshore in deep water and are very hard to target unless you have a shallow lake or good electronics. I have a helix 10 on my yak but dammit I have the wrong transducer so my sidescan does not work and my down imaging is poor quality. I think the transducer is for a less powerful unit.

Anyway, my buddy just bought a bassboat and I will kayak when he is not available but love pitching and flipping this time of year.

We are close boys. At least here. Water temps closing in on 50. I went out and caught just one buck bass but the wind was howling and I did not have my terminal tackle for more weights. Got a cold front coming in today but not bad. Next warming spell will have water in low 50s. When we hit 55 it will go nuts!

My buddy fished off the boat slip and caught a bunch of eater size crappie and one 15 incher.

General Discussion / Re: USPS EMPLOYEES STEALING YOUR MSIL
« on: February 16, 2024, 07:48:38 am »
I had an experience recently where the package I bought was not delivered. It was insured but they denied the claim even though I had an email stating the mail carrier never delivered it. Took me 3 months and hounding those bastards to get my $$ for the product but they DID NOT give me back the $$$ for shipping.

USPS are crooks.

That pisses me off.

Each one of mine, I have asked the supplier to reship and explained to them that if the original shows up, I will Venmo them the cost of the reshipped items. That seems fair and each one agreed. If it doesn't show up, they can be the ones who fight with USPS for the insurance claim. One of those packages just popped up today, saying it is out for delivery, so we shall see. It is interesting that it was no where to be found then in 6 hours it went from a location it usually takes 3 days to move through the network to, out for delivery. When you threaten to start a congressional inquiry things move fast.

The USPS only hires people if they have melanin in their skin. Our mail lady does not even wear a uniform, has nails that are 3 inches long (as long as your pecker) wears headphones and it is more common to get other peoples mail than my own. Seriously. I do not think she cares at all. Me and my neighbors meet almost daily after dinner to exchange mail.

It will tear your ass up if you eat too much of it.

I have a cast iron gut. I can eat all of it or brussels sprout, cabbage or what have you and not have a problem. You may be strong, have great cardio, have bog muscles but I can eat anything so we are kinda the same.

I agree with all of them except broccoli. Broccoli is one of the highest gut inflammatory natural foods we eat. It is one of the very first I eliminate from a clients diet if they are having stomach issues and it usually clears everything up.

For real bro? I thought it was good for you. I have no stomach probs. I know it is a bit hard to digest but lots of good vitamins and minerals.

Bro, sometimes I still grab an ultra light pole and fish for bluegill. Normally for bait but still fun like when I was a kid too.

I have 3 but only 1 fish. I have a bluegill I caught when he was about an inch long. He is now full grown and if I forget to feed him, he smacks the top of the water so I remember.

I need to redo my other 2 aquariums.

I did an anti inflammatory diet for a while and felt great but started craving smoked meats and other not so healthy things.
