Semaglutide
I know Ozempic is getting a lot of press, but wanted to share my recent experience.

My A1C has been creeping up over the last five years and after blowing out my knee a year ago I put on some weight. I carried an extra 25-30 lbs after letting my diet go to shit. My doc ran bloodwork and my A1C jumped to 8.2. Previously it had been 7.0 and now I’m labeled T2 diabetic.

With my knee surgery behind me I’d been hitting the gym and watching my diet but testing my blood glucose throughout the day showed my levels were still way to high even with a very low carb diet and no cheating. I also wasn’t dropping weight.

Doc puts me on a low dose of metformin and 60 days later my A1C hasn’t budged. He says maybe he’ll write a script for Ozempic after giving the metformin more time to work. I’m impatient.

I see EG has Semaglutide available and I figure I’d give it a try. Six weeks in I’m down 20 lbs and my glucose levels are dropping every week. I started on .25mg/wk and ran that for three weeks before upping to .5mg/wk.

With the Libre3 I can see my glucose levels every minute throughout the day and see what does and doesn’t spike my glucose levels. I need to drop another 15 lbs and keep it off for a year or so to see if my pancreas function
Returns to a somewhat normal level.

If anyone else is is T2 or looking to drop weight this compound is the shit. I did experience some random nausea but it never lasted long. I hope EG is able to keep this one in stock.

Thanks for posting! Did it kill your appetite? I've heard that's a part of the weight loss for some people. I had a past client stop training several years ago, gained a lot of weight then jumped on the semaglutide. Shes now back training with me because, yes she lost weight but it killed her appetite to the point that she had no energy levels lost a considerable amount of muscle and always felt bloated and uncomfortable after eating anything.

I started on .25mg/wk for four weeks. At that dose there was some appetite suppression, but it wasn't until I got to .5mg that I really started noticing that I didn't care about food like before.

I can easily have a small snack and skip a meal. When I workout I have to consciously plan to pound a few protein shakes throughout the day to make sure I'm getting enough protein.

I just upped my dose to 1mg/wk and my glucose level dropped another 15%. I love the Libre 3 that shows me my levels 24/7.

Is the semaglutide in 5mg vials? Or do you get 5 vials per order?

I am not a fan of semaglutide or Glipizide for any diabetic. The reason they push the pancreas to produce more insulin when the pancreas is already damaged. Its like red-lining a car engine when the lights are on and damage has occurred. If a low carb diet and metformin does not reduce the A1c to under 5.2 or so, then in my humble opinion, insulin is required. Small amounts to help keep the pressure off the pancreatic beta cells.

I am happy to see your also using a CGM. Ask your doctor for the Dexcom G7.

It's 5mg per vial. About .75mg/wk is my sweet spot so a vial lasts me about six weeks. It's not cheap, but worth every penny.

I'm using the Libre 3--is the Dexcom G7 better in your opinion?
