Caught a fattie!

Went out while my turkey was smoking on my pit. Caught a little bluegill and used him for bait.

Nice!
If it doesn't scare you, it is not heavy enough.

I think we may go out on the boat drift fishing. Still a little early in the year for giants but 15-20 lbs'rs are pretty common. Also eaters about 5-10 lbs are welcome. Blue cats are delicious. Better than channel cats for some reason. Also flat heads are really good too.

I never tried a cat fish?  I had catfish fries years ago as a kid. I was taught they are bottom feeders.  Are they good to eat?

I would rather catch the eaters anyways.

A friend caught some blues last night.  He is going to fry them up.  I will give them a try tonight and let you know.

Caught an even bigger one this evening. Well over 30. Also some good 3-8 pounders which will be good eating.

Big Chicken, bro blue cat is GOOD! They do not eat trash off the bottom like mud cats. They, like flatheads primarily are predators.

Catfish is really good blackened. I love fried fish but like you fried things are too many calories.
