Aren't green crabs invasive? Super cool, are you fishing from a boat or shore? Could one fish for them from a yak?

I'm heading out to Jersey to check on supplies.  Her cousin has a very large boat.  We are going for stripers.

Nice we have striper hybrids here. Smaller but fun to catch. About 50 miles away we have Lake Texoma which is a KILLER striper lake. We are all gonna go this winter. Two of my pals have center console boats. Never caught a striper.

So I’m thinking this lake your speaking of is Brackish water?  Mix of fresh and salt.   I’ll be going out striper fishing weds. I heard a hurricane is hitting FL now.   Hopeful it won’t hit Jersey until we are out of water.

Nope not brackish, higher salinity than most reservoirs but still fresh water. Stripers will live in fresh water as long as the mineral content is high. They will not get as big but they will breed. Redfish from the ocean will live in fresh water as long as it is warm all year.

Good info. I just had a simar discussion with a bait shop owner.   Lots of rain, changes the balance of fresh and salt water.  The saltwater fish do not venture to certain water ways if too much fresh.

That I know. We go to the coast with our kayaks to fish for specks and reds on the bays. Last 2 times it has rained hard and the fish moved offshore and we caught just a few croakers and one trout between us.

Yea. Now I know. I plan if it’s a change due to prior last rains
