Yeah, it is hard to flip and pitch seated so low to the water. That is why I bought some Bonafide SS127's. I can stand all day in those things. Being able to stand when I need to, makes fishing from the kayak so much more enjoyable.
I have to be able to put it on to p of my car. I have to use a light kayak. Wish I could put a hitch on my car. Center exit exhaust where a hitch would go.
Well left thursday, came back just not. Me and my fishing buddy drove over to Caddo. His girl's fam has a lake house. We arrived to find there were 2 tourneys going on that weekend and another next weekend. Then we had a big thunderstorm and a cold front move through thurs evening. Friday there were kayak tourney fishermen and boats everywhere. The kayak guys all had pedal or trolling motor yaks, we were paddle only so our area was limited and we fished beat up water. I lost a big bass that first day right at the boat I will say 6lbs give or take. It was the only bite we got.
Friday post front, 45 degrees cold, muddy water, We fished hard for 3 hours at a time back to the house, ate and went out again. I caught 2 and my pal got one all day and those were the only bites. All were about 15-16 inches and healthy little fish. I tried everything. Only thing I could get bit was 5" black with blue flake yum dinger cast onto the bank then pulled silently into the water. The fish were all in less than a foot of water. We wasted a lot of time fishing 2-4' of water.
I caught 2 more this morning. Much warmer but still kayak and boats everywhere. Same method. Still tried other things but nothing worked.
Last night we sat on the dock and catfished. Caught several, drank a few brews and enjoyed life
Even though it was not optimal, we had a great time. I love Caddo lake. Cannot beat the scenery.
