2026 More Issues with USPS(saying No Delivery Date ect.
« on: January 07, 2026, 05:17:02 am »
Your USPS Express Mail receipt might show no delivery date because it's a newer service with another carrier (like FedEx/UPS) handling the first part, it missed a crucial scan, or there are early delays, causing the automated system to temporarily drop the date until it's closer to your local Post Office; but it still has a Money-Back Guarantee if it misses the expected window, so you should get updates or be able to claim a refund if late.
Common Reasons for No Delivery Date:
Partner Carrier Handover: Often, another company (like FedEx or UPS) picks it up first and hands it to USPS for the "last mile." USPS might not generate a date until they physically receive it, showing "On its Way to USPS".
Missed Scans/Early Delays: If the package misses a scan or encounters an early delay (weather, volume), the system's estimated date (which is algorithmic) can disappear until it's back on track or near delivery.
System Glitch: Sometimes, it's just a temporary glitch in the tracking system.
What to Do:
Check Tracking Regularly: Sign up for text/email alerts on USPS Tracking to see when it enters the USPS network.
Wait for Updates: The date often reappears once it's scanned at a USPS facility.
Contact Shipper (If Early): If it's still with the partner carrier, contact the original shipper.
Contact USPS (If Late/Missing): If it's significantly delayed past the expected time (even without a date shown), check USPS Missing Mail or your local Post Office.

Your USPS Express Mail might say "no refund" because of delivery exceptions (like incorrect address, customs hold, or recipient unavailability) or if you missed filing deadlines/procedures, but you can get a refund if it's late due to USPS issues by filing online, as refunds aren't automatic and require a claim for the guaranteed delivery failure. Common reasons for denial include sender/recipient errors (bad address), customs delays, or the item being held at the recipient's request.
Reasons for no refund (denied claim)
Address/ZIP Code Error: The address was wrong, or the recipient requested it be held.
Customs/Law Enforcement: Item detained by customs or law enforcement.
Recipient Action: Recipient requested a delayed delivery.
Prohibited Items: The package contained hazardous materials or live animals.
Carrier Issues (Sometimes): If delivery was attempted on time but failed due to recipient not being home (and a notice left), it might not qualify, though this is debated.
How to claim a refund (when eligible)
File Online: Go to the USPS.com refund portal.
Gather Info: You'll need the tracking number and mailing receipt.
File Promptly: File within 2-30 days (or 30-60 with extra services) of mailing.
The Sender/Receiver Files: Usually, the person who paid for the postage (sender) files, but the process confirms details with the recipient's address.
What to do if denied
Dispute: If you believe it was a USPS error, file a dispute on the same online portal, attaching proof (like your receipt showing you paid for the guarantee).
Contact Postmaster: If issues persist, contact the local Postmaster or supervisor, as carrier issues need addressing.
