I do not take aminos by them selves. Whey protein is made up of aminos. I do glutamine for my gut health but other than that, whey, creatine and glutamine is all.

I drink 1st Detachment Nutrition's Field Rations for my intra and it contains all my aminos, HBCD and dextrose. Most of the time you get enough aminos from your protein sources, as long as they are from meat. The biggest thing, is you want to make sure you are getting at least 2 grams of leucine in those aminos or they are pretty much incomplete. It will not trigger muscle protein synthesis without the 2 grams of leucine.
If it doesn't scare you, it is not heavy enough.

I did not know that. I will look at my protein. I only take 1 scoop. I do not care about mass but I want as quick a recovery as possible.

I bought some EAAs I have been doing them pre WO and between meals. I can tell no diff at all but then I am not trying to gain mass. Maybe, just maybe it helps with DOMS on leg day.

It's not a big difference but it is helping.  You need to feed the breakdown of muscle.  It's not going to make soreness disappear after heavy days.  But I see myself and look at others and I know they are not doing what I'm doing.  So I believe the study on EAA.  Makes a lot of sense.   No supplement will be a magic pill.  It adds recovery.

Makes sense. I think a steady stream of building blocks to the muscles aid recovery. hey even if it helps 5-6% that is really good. I take 10 grams of L Glutamine after heavy leg days and I am 100% convinced that it helps with soreness. Also my wife has mild IBS and it helps her with gut health.

I thought about it and come spring when I lean out, I am going to sip EAAs between meals as I will be in a caloric deficit and I bet it will help as I do loose a little size (I don't care about that) but I loose strength and muscular endurance. The older i get the harder it is to keep up with these young guys in the ring and on the mat. Gear helps for sure but I am old, slow, weak and not very good at fighting...or lifting HAHAHA But I persevere.
