Gator gar. they are all over here. I have seen some that weigh probably 40-50 lbs but down south Tx they can get to be 200 lbs. in the Trinity river which is the river I fish. They just grow em bigger down there. We also see a very occasional alligator here in the backwaters and creeks. Head south and east and they get thick.
I read indians used the scales of gator gar as arrowheads. Yeah they are sharp and DAMNED tough. If you clean one they are good eating but have some metal sheers to get through the scales.

LA is loaded with them. I never seen any that were 200 lbs, but 5 footers wouldn't even turn a head. Dime a dozen.
