I go back to the study Dr. Antonio did where he took a group and increased their protein intake to 3.7 grams/kg of body weight. He did not change anything else in their diet or training. He just increased their protein intake on average by 200 grams per participant. The study was a year long. Results showed there were no negative impacts to health (lipids, liver, kidneys, etc... even though the American Heart Association says no one should have more than 80 grams of protein a day) and most gained LBM and lost body fat, despite being in excess caloric intake. Like Dr. Stevenson says, the thermogenic properties of protein are amazing.
